Watkin Tudor Jones is the original name of Ninja. In 2003, Yolandi met Ninja for the first time and it was the beginning of her new life. She also mentions that artists like Eminem, Marilyn Manson, Nirvana, Nine Inch Nails, PJ Harvey and Aphex Twin fueled her interest in music.

At the age of 16, her parents send her to a boarding school. Yolandi said that her childhood was normal and she always got herself into fights and known as ‘the little punk’. Except her real name and stage name, Yolandi is known by one more name ‘ Anica The Snuffling’. She is known for her unique hair style and the only one who is allowed to cut her hair is Ninja.
